We are quietly thrilled: the valley food guide has named our garden restaurant, The Gable Table, best local restaurant of 2026. The judges ate anonymously three times — and praised the wood-oven bread, the lake fish and a pudding they described at length.
What the judges loved
Short menus, local everything, and no fuss. Vegetables come from the two farms you can see from the terrace; the fish arrives the same morning it is caught. Our chef, Mara, has cooked in this valley for twenty years and still tastes every sauce herself.
Booking a table
The Gable Table serves dinner Tuesday to Sunday, with two seatings in high season. Lodge guests are always seated first — mention your room when you book, or simply tell reception and we will arrange the evening around you.
